Corey has practiced civil litigation for more than 20 years. His practice has focused on personal injury, product liability, construction law, insurance coverage, contract law, toxic torts, mass tort litigation and defense of political subdivisions. Corey has primarily represented insurers, insureds and self-insured corporations along with political subdivisions throughout his career. He has represented such entities in both state and federal courts.

Corey’s practice includes significant trial and appellate experience. He has tried numerous cases to verdict in North Dakota and Minnesota and has participated in numerous arbitrations in those jurisdictions as well. He has briefed and argued appellate cases before the North Dakota Supreme Court and the Minnesota Court of Appeals.

Selected Cases:

  • obtained a favorable verdict in a head-on motor vehicle accident involving extremely significant injuries to numerous parties
  • received defense verdicts in numerous personal injury cases
  • received a favorable verdict in several cases on behalf of political subdivisions in North Dakota
  • argued successfully a number of seminal drainage cases before the North Dakota Supreme Court
  • brought successfully and argued a myriad number of summary judgment motions in both state and federal courts on a host of civil legal issues
  • argued successfully a personal jurisdiction argument to the Minnesota Court of Appeals resulting in dismissal of his client from a living mesothelioma case
